An Paul und die Macher der Ausstellung, laßt euch nicht beirren und hört nicht auf das, was einige Kunstkritiker zu Paul´s Bildern sagen, denn diese vergessen, daß man nicht aus dem Stegreif Meisterwerke zaubern kann, sondern immer ein Entwicklung von statten geht, die jeder Maler durchläuft. Ich finde Deine Bilder zum Teil sehr gut und hoffe, daß Paul sich durch diese Ausstellung bestärkt sieht und weiter macht. Den Machern und Verantwortlichen in der Region ist nur zu sagen: "Gut gemacht, weiter so!" Ich hoffe, daß die Region jetzt richtig aufwacht und man erkennt, daß mehr für die Region getan werden muß! Wer nicht wagt, der nicht gewinnt!

Wirklich lustig,daß Fans aus New York,London,etc. gerne in Siegen wären der Provinzstadt,wie sie sich ja selbst bezeichnet. Die Ausstellung war wirklich ein riesen Cou für die Stadt und ich muß der Organisation meinen Respekt aussprechen. Von der Premiere bis zur Homepage,alles top ! Weiter so,dann wird (Mal)Kunst auch wieder für die Masse attraktiver. Tilman PS: War irgendwer bei der Eröffnung und könnte mir seine Eindrücke schildern ?War George Harrison da ? Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren, es freut mich, daß es Ihnen gelungen ist unsere Stadt für einen Augenblick in den Fokus der Weltöffentlichkeit zu bewegen. Für Siegen ist diese Ausstellung fraglos das größte 'Kultur-Highlight' der letzten zehn Jahre. Ich persönlich halte zwar die meisten Bilder für nicht so sehr gelungen und Herrn McCartney eher für einen Amateur(natürlich nur was das Malen angeht!) trotzdem denke ich, daß Sie mit solchen populären Künstlern auf dem richtigen Weg sind. Wer tröstet mich???? Paul und George in Deutschland und ich sitze in meinem doofen Berlin, muß für meine Diplom-Prüfung in einer Woche lernen und konnte einfach nicht nach Siegen. Es ging einfach nicht. Mist-Mist-Mist-Mist!!!!!!!!!! Wer hat die beiden getroffen? Was haben sie erzählt? Macht einer der beiden eventuell mal wieder Konzerte!!!!!!! Viele Grüße von "Sad Sandra"

Vielen herzlichen Dank für das Ausstellen der Bilder von McCartney. "Ich will niemanden außer mich selbst beeindrucken", sagte Paul. Vom 30.4. bis 2.5. waren wir in Siegen und - waren beeindruckt! Die spontane, aussagekräftige und (fast) immer gelungene Farb-Bild-Komposition von Paul hat uns begeistert. Neben "Big Mountain Face" haben wir das Bild Nr. 52 der limitierten 100-Serie von "Unspoken words" erworben. Nochmals vielen Dank, insbesondere auch an Wolfgang Suttner, der etwas unmögliches möglich machte und Paul den Mut vermittelte eine weitere künstlerische Kreativität von sich aus- und darzustellen! Im übrigen finden wir Siegen und Umgebung besuchenswert. Ohne Paul hätten wir diese Region wohl nicht schätzen gelernt. Herzliche Grüße aus dem Ruhrgebiet

Herzlichen Glückwunsch an Paul und Wolfgang Suttner und das ganze Kulturbüro-Team. Eine wirklich gelungene Ausstellung. Die meisten Bilder sind wirklich toll. Am besten gefällt mir "Beach Towels", "Shark on Georgica", "Egypt Station" und die verschiedenen "Celts". Ich war am 30.4. in Siegen und konnte Paul wenigstens einen kurzen Moment sehen. Schade, daß George Harrison nicht da war. Hat vielleicht jemand ein paar schöne Bilder von Paul? Meine sind leider zu dunkel. Danke auch für die tollen Internet-Seiten. So bekommt man wenigstens immer die neuesten Infos.

I have been a Beatle fan from the very beginning and following their sad demise, a fan of the individual members. So I have always admired Paul's work. I visited the exhibition last Saturday, and was unsurprised to find the same intensity and exuberance in the paintings that I find in McCartney music. I thought the portraits constituted a complete, satisfying, "period" of the artist in themselves. I strongly urge that more of the paintings be made available as prints, "Red abstract..." and "Mr. Magritte's ruler" being among my first choices. And I wonder whether the artist hasn't invented another new art form in the video presentation "Feedback." It seemed to me to be halfway between music and self-induced trance, and very effective. I wish I could buy a swatch of it, too. Ater I left the exhibit, I was entranced with everything I saw for the next two days, and wonder whether Germans realize how beautiful their country is. Everyone may not experience the same aftereffects as I did, but if you want to see color made into melody, stop by Siegen. Carol, USA

The hand is the instrument of the mind, & the mind is the canvas for the imagination..I always knew that Paul was an artist in many walks of life & was delighted but not really surprised that his paintings are marvelous! They show great strength of character, a splendid sense of color balance, spontaneous brushwork...brushwork in which one could lose oneself....a keen sense of humor exudes from the canvases.. my personal favorite from the ones I have seen is "Key of Sea", reminisent of Deibenkorn's masterworks. Kudos to you Paul! I would love to be able view your work in the States..are there any exhibits planned for the U.S.? When Ann and and I interviewed you at Wembley for a Pittsburgh newspaper (1990), you talked about your creative process and how the "judicious" and "creative" forces in your mind are in constant tension when you are at work. The dreamy quality of Paul's "trippier" music (Rushes} is carried over into his paintings. I love surrealism, and I think he captures the genre very well for an amateur painter. He has given me the desire to have a go at it myself, as I have alwasy been a closet surrelist, in thought anyway...and writing. Great work, Paul. We love you.
